On May 9, the Permanent Mission of Lithuania contributed to the Europe Day reception at the EU Delegation premises in Geneva where all EU Member States treated guests with their national foods.
On 26 March, the Lithuanian Parliamentary Delegation attending the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, in cooperation with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Lithuania in Geneva, hosted a reception at the Palais des Nations to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the proclamation or restoration of independence of Lithuania and other Baltic Sea States.
On 16 March the Lithuanian Permanent Mission in Geneva organized a concert dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Restoration of the Lithuanian State. Lithuania’s most celebrated international concert pianist, Mūza Rubackytė, played piano pieces by Čiurlionis, Beethoven, Schumann and Liszt with highest excellence and inspiration. Her performance enjoyed great success.
On the day of the 100th anniversary of the Lithuanian State Restoration, the Permanent Representative of Lithuania in Geneva Ambassador Andrius Krivas and his spouse Rūta Krivienė traveled to Lugano to honor the memory of two signatories of the 16 February 1918 Lithuania Independence Act who had lived there, Kazimieras Steponas Šaulys and Jurgis Šaulys.
The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Lithuania to the UN Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva wishes all Citizens and Friends of Lithuania a happy 100th anniversary of the Restoration of a sovereign Lithuanian State!
On 14 December, the Lithuanian Permanent Mission hosted a presentation of Professor Dalia Leinarte’s historic research book “Lithuanian Family in Its European Context, 1800-1914: Marriage, Divorce and Flexible Communities”.
On 21 November 2017 Lithuania set up a stand at the charitable UN Fair organized annually by at Geneva's Palace of the Nations by the UN Women's Guild.
