On February 24, at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Lithuania celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Restoration of Independence.

The Director General of WIPO Mr. Francis Gurry, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius, and the Honorary Consul of Lithuania Dr. Michel Sogny congratulated the guests on the occasion. Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Vadym Prystaiko and the Chairwoman of the Swiss Lithuanian community also took part in the event.

Mr. Linas Linkevičius in his address has stressed that in 30 years of independence Lithuania has succeeded in creating a successful, free and democratic state that can be proud of being a credible member of the EU, NATO, UN, WTO, OECD and other international organizations and active participant of international political processes.

Talented young Lithuanian piano players Milda Daunoraitė, Marija Kaleničenko, Kasparas Mikužis and Pijus Pirogovas enchanted the public with their brilliant performance.

Many thanks to the "SOS Talents" Fondation led by Dr. Michel Sogny for generously supporting the young musicians’ education and the WIPO team for their exceptional support to this event.
