Andrius Mamontovas and the ambassadors of Lithuania and Iceland visited CERN

We are highly pleased by the long-term co-operation with CERN, a European Organization for Nuclear Research. Alongside enthusiasts of particle physics who participated in the educational excursion organized by the Lithuanian Mission and CERN, Lithuanian singer Andrius Mamontovas, who was staying in Geneva at that time, and the ambassadors of Lithuania and Iceland Rytis Paulauskas and Martin Eyjólfsson visited CERN.

During the visit, the participants had a chance to explore the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world‘s largest and most powerful particle collider, and the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS), an experimental particle physics detector. It is interesting to note that Lithuanian scientists play an important role in researching the latter, namely - CMS, project.
