At the Eleventh World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference (MC11) Lithuania expressed support to Declaration on Trade and Women Economic Empowerment
Photo: © WTO/ Cuika Foto At the Eleventh World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference (MC11) on 12 December in Buenos Aires Lithuania expressed support to Declaration on Trade and Women Economic Empowerment. 118 World Trade Organization (WTO) members observers agreed to support this Declaration. This is the first time members attending a WTO Ministerial Conference have issued a declaration calling for greater inclusion of women in trade.
At the Eleventh World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference (MC11) on 12 December in Buenos Aires Lithuania expressed its support to Declaration on Trade and Women Economic Empowerment. 118 World Trade Organization (WTO) members observers agreed to support this Declaration. This is the first time members attending a WTO Ministerial Conference have issued a declaration calling for greater inclusion of women in trade.
According to WTO‘s Director-General Roberto Azevêdo, this joint declaration is a very welcome step in promoting women's economic empowerment and in building the more inclusive trading system we all want to see.
Other delegates of MC11 also stressed the importance of women economic empowerment and inclusion to bussiness and trade as priority direction of policy.
