Baltic States Set Record Straight Regarding Their ITU Entry
The Permanent Representatives of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in Geneva ask the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union to reflect in the ITU public record the correct date of their countries’ accession to the Union.
In their joint letter, they point out that Lithuania joined the International Telegraph Union (predecessor organization to today's ITU) in 1923, Latvia in 1921, and Estonia in 1922. They ask to properly reflect this in the ITU official publications which currently show their membership as only dating back to early 1990ies.
