Lithuania Announced a Voluntary Contribution to the UNHCR Budget
On 12 December the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Lithuania to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva Ambassador Andrius Krivas made a statement at the annual UNHCR Pledge Conference.
The Ambassador expressed Lithuania’s support for UNHCR leadership in the area of refugee protection and implementing complex humanitarian support operations in refugee crises that cross borders and affect entire regions. Lithuania consistently increases its voluntary support and budget contributions to the humanitarian agencies in order not only to contribute to emergency responses but also to alleviate the humanitarian needs in prolonged crises. For 2019, Lithuania pledged a voluntary contribution of 30,000 euros to the UNHCR activities in Ukraine.
