Lithuania hands over to Croatia regional group coordination at WIPO

On 14 January, Ambassadors and intellectual property experts of the Central European and Baltic States (CEBS) regional group met at the World Intellectual property Organization (WIPO) to receive the regional coordinator’s report about the Group’s activity throughout 2018.

They positively assessed Lithuania’s co-ordinatorship and wished success to Croatia that takes over this function in 2019. The Group played an active role in WIPO deliberations: Lithuania delivered over 130 statements on behalf of the CEBS group at the plenary meetings of WIPO Assemblies and Committee sessions, 95 coordination meetings were convened during 2018. Counsellor of the Lithuanian Permanent Mission Renata Rinkauskienė, acting in the capacity of the Group’s co-ordinator, presented CEBS positions in numerous formal and informal meetings at WIPO. 
 
Currently 18 countries are members of the CEBS Group: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, FYR Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
