Lithuania makes recommendations at Bahrain universal periodic review

On 1 May 2017, Lithuania took the floor in the Universal Periodic Review of the Kingdom of Bahrain during the 27th session of the UPR Working Group of the Human Rights Council.
Lithuania recommended Bahrain to ratify the Optional Protocol of the Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment; to take steps toward a more enabling environment for international and national media platforms and plurality of opinions within the country, and to establish an official moratorium on the death penalty.
