Lithuania Makes Recommendations to Philippines

Lithuanian Delegation took the floor in the Universal Periodic Review of the Republic of Philippines during the 27th session of the UPR Working Group of the Human Rights Council on 8 May in Geneva.

Lithuania recommended Philippines to take concrete measures to stop the extrajudicial killings, additionally, UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial killings should be invited to visit the country, without any conditionality, to continue implementation of the provisions of Second Optional Protocol of International Convent on Civil and Political Rights regarding the abolition of death penalty and abandon plans to restore death penalty as a legal punishment, to create safer working environment for the journalists.
