Lithuania took over coordination of the Eastern European Group on BWC and CCW issues

On 22 September Lithuanian Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva Ambassador Andrius Krivas chaired the coordination meeting of the Eastern European Group on the preparation for the Meeting of States Parties to the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) which will take place on 4-8 December 2017 and will be chaired by Ambassador Amandeep Singh Gill of India. During the coordination meeting Member States discussed issues that should be included into the agenda of the annual BWC meeting, further consultation process and working methods.

Lithuania took over the role of a coordinator of the Eastern European Group on Biological Weapons convention and Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW) from Latvia starting 1 September 2017 for one year.
