Individuals imprisoned by the Belarusian regime arrive in Lithuania Added 2026-09-16 On 16 September, 25 persons who had been imprisoned by the Belarusian regime and were freed through U.S.-mediated efforts arrived in Lithuania. There are no Lithuanian citizens among them.

The Minister discussed with Coale the U.S. administration’s efforts to secure the release of political prisoners unlawfully detained in Belarus, the security situation in the region, and the Belarusian regime’s ongoing actions against Lithuania and neighboring countries.
